Rules

HOW DO THEY DO THAT?

(1)   MATCH SCORES.   When a match score (say 34 – 29) is entered, the system calculates which team Won or Lost, or if it was a Draw.

Why use 1 – 0 as the score?   It is for simplicity and consistency.   Any score would do, as the shots have no bearing on tied league positions at the season’s end.   We use neutral greens play-offs.

(1) CONCEDED match.   This is where one team defaults to the other.   The ONLY reason is when a team cannot be fielded.   Remember that YOU CANNOT POSTPONE a match because you cannot field your best team.   If you have more than one team, then bring up players where needed; this might ultimately mean that your LOWEST team may have to Concede – since you will know in advance, you can AVOID conceding by bringing the lowest team’s match forward.

Fixtures MUST BE PLAYED by the stated dates.   NORMAL exceptions are when either (1) a green is declared unplayable by the GREENS-KEEPER, (2) there is a funeral of a club member on a match day, or (3) a serious car crash prevents part of a team from turning up.   In ALL these instances, the match MUST BE rescheduled and played on a date not more than 14 days after the original date.   The Section Secretary MUST be advised at once.

(2) AWARDED match.   This is when a team uses a player who is UNREGISTERED, or else is INELIGIBLE because he PLAYED TOO MANY GAMES FOR HIGHER TEAMS (up to six is allowed, seven or more isn’t).
